Best Western Bradford Inn

We’d booked two nights, but left at daybreak after canceling the second one. If it hadn’t been so late when we arrived, we wouldn’t have stayed at all. The photos and description online gave a very different impression from the actual place. The first room reeked of cat urine. The next one didn’t have that smell, but it was still dirty: hair was all over the toilet and bathroom floor, and the connecting door wouldn’t lock, so I had to push a table in front of it. At least the sheets were clean and we saw no sign of bedbugs. That was the only reason for the one star. I’d never recommend this place.

Being able to park right outside my room is always a plus. The room itself was clean and roomy, and the bed was comfortable.

I went in without a reservation and booked three nights at the desk. The room was roomy and accessible, smelled fresh, and had a clean shower and a nice tile floor in the bathroom. The AC worked well. I ended up leaving on the second afternoon and asked for the third night back. The manager agreed to a full refund even though the room had already been cleaned and it was around 3 pm. Given the frustrating fridge problem, that felt fair, and I thought he handled it right in the end. The mini fridge was warm when I arrived. I fiddled with the temperature on the first day and it cooled things for a while, then stopped again. On the second day I realized the desk chair was bumping its plug and cutting the power. It seemed to have happened repeatedly, since there were small patches of black mold in the top of the fridge. The smell was awful too, though at first I thought that was just because it was warm. The outlets seemed loose in general, and plugs wouldn’t stay in, which may have been part of the problem. I feel reasonably good about how things worked out, and I think I’d stay again.

The people were nice, the breakfast was typical, and the bed was comfortable. Still, it’s pretty far off the beaten path and not easy to get to. It’s an older Best Western, low end for the brand, with two floors and no elevator. The room decor is very dated.
