Nuvo Suites Hotel

The staff were friendly, and housekeeping stopped by every day. Breakfast was okay, though more options would’ve been nice. The free valet was convenient, but our car was left unlocked a couple of times. My sunglasses were either left in the car or stolen from it. The hot tub itself was nice, but the jets need repair. Without them working properly, the water just splashes around and hits your face instead of giving you a proper jetted experience. I mentioned it to staff, but it didn’t seem like a priority, and it looked like this had been going on for a while.

The hotel worked well for our Memorial Day weekend family visit, and the staff were especially kind, helpful, and courteous. As Florida residents, we got a discount, which mattered on a holiday weekend. I’d also missed an important detail before arriving: there was no carpeting. That made a real difference for my mother’s allergies. She’s 96, uses a walker, and needed an ADA-compliant room, which was the main reason I was looking for a place nearby. The hotel met every expectation I had.

I’d probably stay here again. The location suited the places I needed to visit, and the suite had a comfortable sofa plus a washer and dryer. The pool looked nice in the pictures, but I didn’t get around to seeing it. My view was of warehouses and nearby residential buildings, which made sense for the area. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty to choose from, though it was much the same each day. The staff were generally kind, if sometimes looking overworked. Most were bilingual, including many Hispanic staff, and I appreciated the work they do in a service job that many so-called “Americans” wouldn’t take for that pay. The kitchen was modern-looking but a little dated and still functional. It could use more attention: the A/C was very loud for hours after being switched on, and there were paint scratches, dents, and caulking that needed fixing. When I arrived, the floor was extremely dusty. I bought a sweeper and cleaned the whole place before my wife arrived two days later. At least the cleaning wore me out enough to sleep.

We only stayed briefly, but it was comfortable and pleasant. The room was tidy, and the little sitting area outside the bedroom was comfortable too. Nuvo has a contemporary feel, and the staff were helpful and very friendly. There are two malls close by for food, shopping, or a movie. There’s no airport shuttle, but Uber was reasonably priced. I’d recommend Nuvo.
