Days Inn by Wyndham Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue

I was anxious after reading the bad reviews before checking in, but I was very happy with the room. It was spotless, and the service, room, bed, carpet, and bathroom were all 10/10. The price is very low and the location is really good, so I'd recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Washington. There's a $25 parking fee to keep in mind. Parking in a big city can be expensive, and hotels in big cities usually charge for it. My advice is to book and see for yourself, rather than just believing the bad reviews.

Our room was clean, and the housekeepers kept it that way. The room was supposed to be near non-smoking rooms, but it smelled like weed. Around 1 in the morning, a man tried to come into our room while my sibling and I were asleep. It scared us half to death. The phone in the room just rang without reaching the front desk, so we had to call from our personal phones. They answered, but no security came to check on us. It was our last night and we got through it. Other than that, no complaints.

We picked this place just because it was close to our family member's apartment. The beds were clean, and housekeeping was very sweet. There was an ice bucket and a safe, but no coffee service or cups in the rooms. The building is old, and there was a funky smell as soon as we got off the elevator.

The location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from the Metro, and there's a grocery store and a few restaurants nearby, including one in the same building. Coffee is available in the lobby. I wish the room had a mini fridge and a small coffee maker, though. For the price, I'd highly recommend this hotel. The room was very nice and clean, with two double beds, fresh white linens, three stuffed pillows on each bed, and a very nice TV. They don't clean every day, which didn't bother me, and sometimes it seemed like they did anyway. There were always fresh towels and toiletries. I plan to visit Washington DC again and am sure I'll stay here.
