Motel 6 Sycamore, IL

We left and found another hotel after the refrigerator quit working while we were out at dinner. When we came back, there was a puddle all over the floor, and the broken prong was still in the outlet beside the beds. I had spotted that broken prong when we arrived and asked for a refund because we didn’t stay the whole night. The front desk knew about it but hadn’t fixed it or told maintenance. Someone less observant could have been killed. We decided to leave after finding the fridge leak and the unrepaired outlet.

There was no customer service or professionalism, especially from Samantha and the man who couldn’t communicate the reservation details. The management situation was a mess: they told her to shush while she pretended to be a customer and argued with them about allowing an extended stay.

We were booked for three days but only stayed around six hours. I woke up and killed a bedbug crawling in my bed, so we left right away. Since the reservation was through Expedia, neither they nor the hotel would give us a refund. Never again!

We were switched rooms three times because things didn’t work. The first room was accessible, but neither the TV nor the AC worked. The second had AC but no TV. The third had both, but wasn’t accessible. There was no maintenance employee at the hotel, and they moved me to a cheaper room without compensating me for what I’d paid. The only reason I choose Motel 6 is because we travel with our dog. If you don’t have pets, it’s better to stay away.
