The location made getting around really convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever I had a question. My room was clean, comfortable, and had what I needed. I had a solid stay and thought it was good value. I’d consider coming back.

With the new ownership and management, I had a really pleasant stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the service was great throughout. My room was clean and comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again.

The older Mr Patel was polite and professional when I met him getting coffee the next morning. The younger Mr Patel could learn from him. He needs better communication skills. Being passive-aggressive or trying to intimidate customers won’t bring repeat business or fix a room. The newly updated lobby gave us high expectations: there was a nice barn door that seemed to lead to a breakfast area, a cooler with drinks and snacks for sale, and a guest computer. But the room was filthy. The bathroom door was barely hanging on and wouldn’t shut, and the tub was so nasty we stood on a towel to take a very quick shower. When I spotted lipstick on one of the blankets before bed, we went to the office to ask for clean bedding. Mr Patel said there was no housekeeping staff at 9 pm, then handed me clean sheets for both beds and said I could change them myself. Earlier, we’d discussed whether a credit card had to be held for “incidentals.” I declined, and Mr Patel told me he’d call the police if we damaged the room. I said that was fine if we actually caused damage. He then stamped the Wi-Fi password onto the key envelope forcefully and pushed his chest out with his arms back, which felt like an attempt to intimidate me. I had to go to the office shortly after check-in to pay a pet fee. I told him I could see why he was so angry, because the room was basically destroyed. He smiled and said he wasn’t angry. I asked what the earlier behavior was about, and he said he was just trying to communicate. In front of my husband, his manner was much more respectful toward me than it had been during our first encounter. I couldn’t find a clear answer online about breakfast. When I asked, I was told they only serve coffee at the front desk in the morning, so I’m mentioning that for others. The repairs were shoddy and the place was disgustingly dirty, which seemed to come from staff not putting in effort, or possibly laziness. These are only a few of the problems my family dealt with during one night; there were too many to fit in this review. I’ve posted a few pictures. I wouldn’t recommend The Roadway Disaster Inn to anyone.

We stayed four nights. The room smelled like mold or old water, and the bathroom door barely closed. You had to shove it hard to keep from getting stuck inside, loud enough to wake the whole hotel. There was no Wi-Fi, and cell service was poor too. With two people in a double room, we got only two towels. Housekeeping came in, made just one bed, and took the clean towels we’d picked up at the front desk. When we asked for more, they acted as though we’d taken them. The photos online look nothing like the hotel. It needs a lot of work and updating, and guests should feel safer. When we checked in, an employee asked which side we wanted, then called one side “the good side.” What does that say about the other rooms? If you’re single and only need somewhere to sleep alone, maybe this is the place. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere.

On the way to visit our son at the military base, the three of us stopped here for a night to get some rest. As soon as we entered room 303, I saw a huge bed bug crawling across the pillow. I told the front desk, and all they said was they were sorry. We found many more bed bugs afterward. I’ve been a Choice Hotels member for about 10 years, and this is one of the worst places I’ve stayed. I wouldn’t recommend it. I’d give it zero stars if the site let me, but it requires at least one.
