La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tacoma - Seattle

The free breakfast was decent, nothing special, and the room didn’t have shampoo or body wash, which I usually expect at Hilton properties. Still, it was a clean, comfortable room and a reliable place to stay.

Getting to the Tacoma dome for the wrestling state tournament was convenient for my family, and my wife and I could get to EQC easily and cheaply. The room was basic, nothing special, and maybe a little overpriced, but the location worked well. There are a lot of homeless people and drug users in the area. They have security, though, and the big guy was very friendly. Front desk service was mixed: some staff were helpful, but one older AA woman was rude to my wife, me, my dog, and the customers ahead of us. I don’t trust people who treat dogs the way she did. I don’t know if she’s the only Black staff member and nobody wants to say anything, but she doesn’t belong in customer service.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though this isn’t a luxury hotel. Staff have always been helpful and responsive, and there’s a great outdoor area specifically for walking dogs. I’ve brought my dog several times. I’ve stayed at this location at least five times over the last few years because it’s near my relatives and meets my needs. I plan to keep coming back whenever I visit Tacoma.

Heather was the best during my stay. When my friend and I ran into a horrible, shady Uber driver, she helped us get away from him and turned our night around. Any time I had a question or concern, she handled it quickly and effectively. You can tell she really cares about guests. I had a great time and will definitely be back.
