Patty and Jerry gave me a comfortable, homey stay with warm hospitality and lovely breakfasts that worked with special diets. They were very kind about how much longer than usual I needed to stay. They also gave this mom real peace of mind about leaving my college freshman 2,100 miles from home. It made me think of the old B&B tradition in the US, when families rented rooms to travelers passing through, sometimes during hard times like the Great Depression. Guests might stay a day or two, share breakfast with the host family, then sort out their other meals themselves. Patty and Jerry have kept that spirit while adding a charming atmosphere and wonderful breakfasts. The shower could've been hotter, and one twin bed was harder than I'm used to. Those small issues still don't change my five stars, which I rarely give. The people and everything else deserve them, and I'd add a bonus star if I could. It's close to UPS, Gig Harbor, shops, restaurants, hiking trails, and other attractions. If you need anything, just ask Patty or Jerry and they'll do what they can. Highly recommend. I'll be back.

The house really does have that visiting-grandma's-home feel, with a lovely garden and a well-equipped kitchen. We were surprised with a delicious homemade dinner. Street parking was safe and free, pets aren't allowed, and bathrooms are shared. We were the only guests using ours, which was nice. Breakfast was at 8 sharp, but nothing was hot, so we probably wouldn't have gotten up so early had we known. Our double bed was very hard, though that wasn't a problem for us. The hostess is sweet and a great cook, which is why I gave four stars instead of three, and I don't like rating a small business low. The house has several bedrooms, and the hosts sleep in the basement. At breakfast, the host launched into a long political speech about vaccine mandates and politicians lying, and repeatedly asked whether we agreed. We didn't, but our hesitation and vague “not really” answers didn't stop him. As a nurse, I found it especially awkward. It was still bothering me five days later. Even so, it was a solid, homey place to stay.
We needed a place at the last minute near my daughter's tournament, and this worked great, just six minutes from the facility. The street was quiet, I slept well without hearing cars, and the host was very accommodating. We'll be back if we have more events in Tacoma.
My first bed and breakfast stay was a good one. The rooms were comfortable, our hosts were amazing, and the location was perfect. Breakfast had a great variety, including Blueberry cheese cake cake. I'll be back when I'm in the area.
I booked through Expedia for myself and my two boys, but the listing didn't make clear that we'd be sharing the space and bathroom with other tenants. The description said one room had a full-size bed and another had two twins. Patty seemed unhappy that there were three of us and said the place was for two guests only. She was annoyed and unprofessional when dealing with the confusion over the information she had given Expedia. We were just as surprised to find the space so different from the online description. Her husband Jerry was polite and tried to smooth things over. We ended up canceling and getting a hotel.
