Quality Inn Takoma Park

We were put in a second-floor room. I didn't see an elevator, and both the stairs and walkway are outside, so that's something to keep in mind if anyone in your family has a disability. Our first room's AC didn't work. I asked to move, but no other room was available then; once one was cleaned later that day, we were switched. The place is older and doesn't seem to have had many updates. One of the two ice machines worked and it was very old, though the tubs and bathroom flooring looked new. The beds were clean but exceptionally firm and uncomfortable to me. The location is about 20 minutes from central DC, and being on the outskirts made nearby restaurants and grocery stores easier to get to. It was one of the cheaper places around, which I tried to factor in. Breakfast runs from 6-9 AM, but it was limited compared with other hotels: two cereals, yogurt, waffles, milk, coffee, and juice. No eggs, bread, or meat.

Don't leave your things behind. I say the cleaning ladies took them, even a crockpot, and the front desk person didn't bother to investigate. He just took their word for it. Whatever I left was gone shortly after checkout. And to the manager, hush. You didn't properly check your team for theft. It's a roach motel, but honesty should matter anywhere.

IHOP is right next door, and Quality inn Takoma Park is in a Community center in a strategic spot close to other hotels. My family stayed there when we went to College Park Maryland Global Campus for our son Paul Aduba jr.'s graduation.

There are no elevators, and the rooms weren't clean or well maintained. The receptionist was behind a glass barrier, something I'd never seen at a hotel before. I thought one night would be fine since I was arriving late and leaving in the morning, but it wasn't. This place felt more like a seedy motel in a sketchy location, and the poor reviews are accurate. Don't come here. If you have to stay, bring shower flip-flops, maybe your own linen, and wipe everything down.
