Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Tallahassee Conference Ctr N by IHG

Nicolette at check-in was super friendly and accommodating, which is the reason this gets a second star. The room was a mess: the remote was filthy, there was a hair in the tub, black grime built up around the sink, two stained towels, and splatter on the mirror. As an IHG member, this was far below what I've come to expect from its promises. Breakfast the next morning was worse. We paid $5 per person, but every plate was disgustingly dirty, apparently reused without washing. I pointed it out, and the staff seemed offended. After that I didn't want anything cooked, so we chose fruit instead. The bananas were completely brown, some apples were half rotten, and a few muffins had visible mold on top. If you stay here, don't eat here.

This is my new hotel of choice when I'm in the Tallahassee area. It's set a little back from the main road, so it's convenient but quiet. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are helpful. They also host a small colony of cats in the back lot, in case you're missing your own fuzzies.

The beds and pillows were super comfortable, the shower pressure was amazing, and both the room and lobby were very clean. We've been traveling a lot over the last few months, and this was easily the best hotel. My only complaint is the 20% gratuity added to the restaurant bill. I called in and ordered the food myself, then picked it up myself, so being charged 20% to essentially serve myself seemed silly. We'd been on the road for hours, but decided to get food somewhere else.

We stopped here for just one night and it worked out great. Getting on and off I-10 was easy, the staff were great, the room was clean, and the food was good. It was nice to have dinner and a drink at the bar without needing to go anywhere else.
