The room was a little dark arriving at night, but the bed was good quality and the TV was good. It was quiet, and the price was good value, around $68 at the desk if I remember right. The hotel is being renovated, so there was no breakfast food available. There’s no elevator access to the second floor, and the desk clerk was rarely around.
There’s plenty of semi parking by the hotel, though it takes a little walk to get there. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, which made it a great place for a truck driver to get out of the semi for a night or so.
The beds were comfortable and the AC got cold, but our two-night stay left a lot to be desired. There was a strange room odor somewhere between cat pee and dead flowers, and the decor was badly dated and lacking. Our family had several rooms, and we ran into problems with the built-in hair dryers, TVs, and remotes. Several remotes had no batteries or had dead, corroded ones. The shower pressure was so weak that water only trickled out, no matter which shower-head setting we tried. The staff were fairly friendly, but our room had two shampoos instead of shampoo and conditioner. They also changed the prices between when we booked and when we checked out. Would I recommend staying here? Only if every other hotel room in town were taken. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you had no choice.
It looked clean, but the room was really shabby, with decor that seemed left over from the 90s. The so-called non-smoking room smelled of stale smoke and deodorizer, and the sheets and blankets had several cigarette-burn holes. The bathtub drain plug was taken apart, and the bathroom light fixture was hanging loose. This is the worst Super 8 I’ve stayed at. It’s independently owned, and Super 8 should take back its name.
The staff were friendly and very accommodating, and breakfast was better than I’ve had at much more expensive hotels. It was quiet, and I stayed in the room all day while my husband worked. The room was clean, stocked with towels, and the clean beds were comfortable. Everything worked, and the AC kept us completely comfortable even in the extreme heat outside. There was a smell when we first arrived, which I assume came from some kind of smoke neutralizer, but it went away quickly. I recommend my room here to everyone, though it’s only one room in the whole facility, which is why I’m giving four stars.
