The room was small, and there was a strong mold smell throughout the property. Heavy perfume or air freshener seemed to be used to cover it, which made the atmosphere even less comfortable. I booked after reading the many positive online reviews, but this stay didn’t live up to them. I also came away wondering whether some of those reviews were genuine. Breakfast was meant to run until 9:30 a.m. on weekdays. We arrived around 9, but there was no bread; an employee said it was frozen and would take time to prepare. Even though there were nearly 30 minutes left, staff started taking food away around 9:15, leaving very little to choose from. At 9:30 sharp, they closed the breakfast area. If the advertised hours go until 9:30, food shouldn’t be removed beforehand. It was extremely frustrating, and made me doubt even more that the high ratings reflect what guests actually experience.

Bascom was a lovely breakfast attendant who clearly takes pride in keeping the room clean and nicely presented. His personal touches made us feel welcome. There were loads of choices, and the food was really good, easily the best hotel breakfast I’ve seen. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the whole stay had some nice extra touches. ❤️

We left check-out day feeling full and happy after a lovely breakfast. The hot food bar stayed fresh, beautiful, and spotless, with no sticky messes or empty pans. At other hotels, staff sometimes seem to give up during the last half hour, but that didn’t happen here. The employee was Scott, I think, and he kept everything in great shape right through service. Kudos to him, and thank you!

The hotel is so close to MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, and free parking was a nice bonus. Bascom, the breakfast attendant, really made our stay special. We’ve never had better hotel breakfast, and he even set up snacks before the concert, which was perfect for filling up before the show.

Getting to the interstate and nearby attractions was easy from here, and our room was very comfortable. The best part was breakfast, especially the coffee Bascom made for us. Thanks for the hot, delicious food and for starting our morning with such kindness. We’ll definitely stay again. Thanks, John and Shannon.
