Hotel South Tampa & Suites

For the price, this was good value. The pool was clean and relaxing, and the hotel had a quiet, comfortable feel. Our room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, with an especially cozy bed and everything we needed. Free Wi-Fi and parking were appreciated, and breakfast being included made things easier. The property seemed well maintained, getting there was convenient, check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I’d consider staying again on a Tampa area visit.

The free breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve had, with omelettes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, bagels, pastries, coffee, juice, and more. For an overnight near the cruise port, the price was reasonable, the bed was comfortable, and the room looked very clean. It was better than I expected, with a well maintained property and professional staff. There was an occasional musty smell in the room, perhaps from the air conditioner or something outside. I had Febreze and that took care of it, so it wasn’t a big deal. The zippered mattress cover to prevent bed bugs was reassuring. I’d stay here again if I needed to.

We usually choose a chain like Holiday Inn, Hilton, or Marriott, so I was a little nervous booking this inexpensive place. A last minute Priceline deal made the price amazing, and we were pleased with the stay. It’s very basic but clean. The weather was cool, so we skipped the pool. My husband used the laundry machines, which had a timer. Thumbs up from us.

The beds were comfortable even for my bigger spouse, and the heated outdoor pool was a nice surprise. Breakfast was more extensive than I expected for the price, the staff were friendly, and it was quiet and felt safe. There are lots of food choices within walking distance in a nice area. The hotel is older, but they’re actively making upgrades and I’m glad I chose it. This was an unexpected trip, so I picked somewhere quickly with easy outside access. I’d stay again if we come back.
