Hyatt House Tampa Downtown

The lobby and room at this Hyatt House were lovely, and the lattice screens give the place an elegant touch. It's also in a convenient spot, and the hotel felt pleasant and efficient. Our room was laid out nicely, with a kitchenette, refrigerator, and dishwasher, maybe more than we needed but appreciated. The room was made up quickly the next day, and breakfast was decent and included. The fourth-floor gym is spacious, and the small pool is a nice extra. I’ll come back.

The property is beautiful, well maintained, and comfortable. Jary turned a reservation cancellation at check-in into one of the most pleasant hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. She caught the problem, took charge professionally, fixed it quickly, and made sure I got the right room. She was friendly, approachable, and greeted guests with a smile that brightened the lobby. She also knew the Hyatt brand and my loyalty benefits well, and took the time to explain the available amenities and perks. I usually stay with Marriott as a Titanium Elite Member and Hilton as a Diamond Member, both known for high service standards. Thanks to Jary’s professionalism, kindness, and genuine care, I plan to book Hyatt more often. Hyatt Management, Jary is a real asset. Her initiative, customer service, and positive energy show what hospitality should be. Please recognize her for the lasting impression she made and for turning a stressful check-in around.

The hotel itself is very nice, but the check-in problem ruined the main reason we came to Tampa. I’d requested early check-in ahead of time because of a long drive and an event we had to make, and they told me it wouldn’t be a problem. I confirmed again that morning and was told we could check in early. When we arrived, they said the room wasn’t ready and we couldn't check in. We missed our timing for the event and had to sit in the lobby with all our luggage, watching other guests check in early without trouble.

We came with a big group for a wedding at the Tampa Club. The location was great, with restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel food was good. Our housekeeping was amazing, though others in our party said their rooms weren't cleaned often. The pillows were very flat, so ask for extras. The front desk staff weren't very hospitable. We arrived at 10 a.m. and confirmed we were there. They said we'd get a text when the next room was ready, first come, first served. But people in our party who arrived later got rooms before us. It seemed they'd forgotten us and kept checking in others while we waited until 3 p.m.
