We could hear the person in the neighboring room snoring, and footsteps from the floor above were audible too. The walls seemed thin. One of our three pillows smelled like sweat, and we found a large brown, six-legged bug in the bathroom, even though the room looked clean at first. We booked specifically because we expected to check out late. Before booking, a staff member had discussed a 2 pm checkout with us, but when we arrived they said checkout had to be earlier.

The pool could have been cleaner, and the rooms were about what you'd expect from a mid-range Hilton. What made the weekend special was the staff. Samantha at the front desk and Meli (I think that was her name) at the breakfast bar were so friendly and helpful, treated us like family, and were especially sweet to my kids. We'd come back just to see them. If either of you reads this, don't change. You're both wonderful women.

Update: My spouse emailed the general manager from the lobby, and ten minutes later, at 4:10, she came out from the back. She said she didn't know how this had happened and offered us snacks and drinks. The room was ready around 4:30. It's a nice hotel with nice staff, but our first visit got off to a rocky start. Check-in was supposed to be at 3, but at 4 I was still writing this from the lobby with all our belongings. I arrived 15 minutes after check-in time and was told the room needed 15 minutes for an “inspection.” The front desk girl seemed nice, and the lobby was clean, but nobody could tell us what was going on. No one offered another room or reassurance, and there wasn't a manager there to help. I still hadn't seen the room, so I couldn't review it, but the service while we waited was sad and unprofessional.

Melie made breakfast each morning, and her kindness and attention really made the mornings nicer. She kept everything fresh and well stocked, and her warm attitude started the day off well. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming from start to finish. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable place to stay.
