We'd driven for seven hours and decided to make the best of a bad situation, but the room heater sounded like a wounded animal each time it cycled, and its fan was very loud. It woke me repeatedly. The hallway carpets were dirty and stained, and there was mold and dirt on the floor by the ice machine. At breakfast, all the food was cold and disgusting, well below my already low expectations for a free meal. At arrival, I asked to use the restroom and was told the lobby restroom was closed because there was no water, though they could check me in quickly. As she handed over the keys, the desk clerk mentioned the internet was also down. There was no water in the room either. When I went back to complain and asked about checking out, I was told there would be no refund and the water would be back soon. We waited more than an hour for the water and internet to come back. I complained to IHG, who said the property management would contact me. The front desk then called to say they wouldn't do anything and the water would be on shortly. Renovation work on our floor smelled like drywall dust and paint, which my wife is very sensitive to. We asked to change rooms, but were refused rudely, and they said they wouldn't adjust the rate. I contacted IHG again and they said they would follow up. As a frequent business traveler, this was the worst hotel stay of my life and has damaged my relationship with IHG.

Check-in was easy, and the room was spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there was cable and a warm shower. Breakfast was good. Holiday Inn Express and Suites are the best.

The room was nice and the bed comfortable. But don't use the on-site laundry. My clothes smelled worse when they came out, so the $6 was a waste, and the worst part was still not getting clean clothes.

We usually choose Holiday Inn on our road trips, and this was the first time I've ever left less than five stars. The room was spacious and comfortable, but they charged us the maximum rate even though the hotel wasn't busy. As an IHG member, I usually get complimentary water at check-in, but there was none, and they didn't even have water for sale. Breakfast was disappointing, with the pancake machine down, no cinnamon rolls, and very few choices. We were glad not to have to leave at the crack of dawn and had time for breakfast and the pool. After breakfast we put on our suits for the hot tub, the main reason we chose this location, but found the gate locked. The desk lady said it wasn't open until 10, with 'no exceptions.' A really disappointing stay.

The breakfast was okay and had lots of options, and the staff were friendly enough. But the room quality didn't match the price: we paid $200 for one night in a King Bed, and it felt more like a $115 room. The carpet and cloth blinds were stained and torn in several places, and the blinds took two hands and a good tug to move because they wouldn't open or close easily. The towels were small and hard, the shower head was awful, and there was no water in the room. When I mentioned the room's condition, the staff didn't seem to care and said they could only know about it if customers told them. What about the cleaners?
