Excel Inn & Suites

The shower was clean, the Wi-Fi worked decently, and we slept comfortably. I expected less from a motel, so the room was fairly nice. We did have to buy our own shampoo and soap since none were provided.

The staff were great, and for my needs the room was clean, quiet, and had a comfortable bed. The building itself needs some work, though. Paint is peeling, and the shower floor is starting to give way in one corner. Its old, cheap showerhead mostly sprays mist, with two jets that actually hurt. My corner room also had an awkward bathroom layout, leaving me to squeeze between the door and toilet. Management should invest in renovations.

The hotel is older, but some renovations have made it quite suitable for the price, and the location is convenient to town. We travel around the country a lot and have stayed in all kinds of places, and I really couldn't complain about this one. Our room and the rest of the hotel were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, and I'd happily stay here again.

A comfortable bed and clean room made this a good spot for a one-night visit when all you need is somewhere to sleep. The heater, though, is loud and runs constantly. There's also a train within 20 feet, which could wake you if you're a light sleeper. No shampoo was provided.
