Laura, the GM, has been the kindest person I’ve ever dealt with, and Ranae is just as wonderful to talk to. They’re both understanding, great at their jobs, and treat you like a person instead of a reservation. My son and I have been here about a month, and they’ve made the whole stay easy and pleasant. The rooms are roomy and very clean, and the front desk ladies can set you up with a full kitchen set if you ask. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. I’d recommend it 100 percent.

Getting out after four weeks felt like an accomplishment. The rates could hit $250 a night for a new reservation, plus a $100 deposit, which is a lot for what they call a Studio 6 motel, especially when Hampton can cost less. Staff came across as rude and unprofessional, and I was uncomfortable with them slipping into rooms while doors were cracked open. I only told a guy outside what time it was, 9:48, after he asked me from my balcony. Since he’d been kicked out, the office then kicked me out for associating with him. They can suspect you of something and remove you without a reason. I wouldn’t recommend this place, or any other one like it.

The rooms weren’t especially clean, but Caitlin at the front office made a strong impression from the start. She’s welcoming, patient with questions, and explains things clearly without missing details. Her organization and efficiency help everything run smoothly, and she seems to truly care about the people she helps. Her positive attitude makes each visit pleasant, and her customer service is noticed. Caitlin is a real asset to the office.

I left after the first night and found another hotel for the rest of my long weekend in Phoenix. A violent argument broke out right outside our room, with someone waving a metal rod and later throwing it into the parking lot, followed by threats about a gun. The exterior door was damaged and didn’t close properly, so we could hear everything. In the morning I found the deadbolt hadn’t engaged either. I asked for another room, but none were available. I’d come for three nights to see friends and do some sightseeing, and the photos had made the place look okay. In person the rooms were dated and not very clean. Even before the fight, people were always hanging around on balconies watching everyone, and I never felt at ease. Leaving for safety was the right call, and I don’t regret it.
