We got locked out of our room on Christmas Eve and couldn’t get back in until late Christmas morning. There was no help on site, and nobody responded by phone or email to sort out the broken door. It also took almost a month to get our security deposit back. Disappointing. NAUGHTY LIST. Go elsewhere.

Scuba Wer k sss in Juniper were so easy to work with that they even gave us a free dive after hearing what happened with this hotel. We’d hoped to come down 4-5 times a year for diving, but we won’t ever stay here again. I’ve had better treatment at fast food restaurants. There’s no excuse for how little compassion they showed. I’d booked about seven weeks ahead. The front desk couldn’t process payment through booking dot com and asked me to book through Air be and be instead. That was my first mistake. Four weeks before the trip, my wife’s 39-year-old boss was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and given only a few months to live. My wife took on helping her dying co-worker, and her company froze vacation time. I gave the hotel a month’s notice about this heartbreaking situation, but they refused to refund anything. A Hispanic lady I spoke to by phone said they’d take care of a full refund, then sent me to cancel through the “official” online process. Air be and be returned $66 from a bill of almost $600. We run a small business ourselves and would never want to cheat anyone out of a dollar, but the lack of humanity toward a dying 39-year-old says a lot.

The door code lock was almost impossible to see, and the bedside lights flickered after being switched off. One kitchen light bulb was out, leaving the room dim. There was only one coffee cup, some dishes were missing, and the AC rattled when the cooling kicked in.

Esperanza made check-in easy with quick, welcoming texts, and the little extras were a nice touch: water, snacks, and toiletries were complimentary. You could tell the staff cared about making the stay memorable. The motel itself was charming, with rooms that felt fresh and recently remodeled. Everything was impeccably clean. We had a delightful stay and are already looking forward to coming back to town. We’d choose this place again without hesitation. Kudos to Esperanza and the whole team for making it feel so warm and inviting.
