SureStay Hotel by Best Western Terrell

The staff were friendly and the place was clean, and otherwise we had a great stay. The beds were much too firm for me, though. I’d read reviews saying they were comfortable, but I couldn’t sleep well on them. If you prefer a slightly softer mattress, I’d stay somewhere else.

I was there for 2 1/2 months after an electrical fire at my home, with help from different friends, which MELISSA knew about. Lisa and Megan were wonderful, and the owners, especially their son who worked there, were kind, polite, and courteous. Lisa and Megan went out of their way to help with things. I had a pleasant stay apart from the way MELISSA treated me. She repeatedly reminded me she was the MANAGER and that the hotel wasn’t an apartment, which I understood. When she worked mornings, she’d call before 7am on almost every checkout day to remind me checkout was at 11 AM. She was the only one who addressed it, but MELISSA didn’t. Then about an hour later she called to tell me I couldn’t return to the hotel or come on the premises, that I wasn’t welcome. Her parting words were hurtful and rude. I think Lisa should be manager. MELISSA is extremely rude, and people who called and spoke with her said the same. I never write reviews, but felt this one was necessary. I hope it helps someone in the future.

We were here for about five or six days over the weekend during a winter storm, and miss Lisa made the stay much easier. She helped us check in and settle, then kept making sure we had what we needed and were safe. One day I looked out and saw her shoveling ice from the parking lot. She’s a dedicated, amazing person to have working there. I took a picture of miss Lisa while she was clearing the snow, and hope she doesn’t mind. Thankyou SO MUCH, miss Lisa. We’ll definitely be back!

The fold-out couch bed was disgusting, with what looked like an insane amount of dirt and mold, and it should be a biohazard. The microwave was nasty too. The bathroom was damp, the tub had rust, and the whole place smelled horrible. I spilled some tea, wiped the floor with a baby wipe, and it came up filthy. I kept wiping things down, and everything was gross. The outlets were so worn out that plugs wouldn’t stay in, so we couldn’t charge phones unless we held them in place. Nastiest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Never again.
