Tyrone was the one bright spot. He was alone on a busy Saturday night but stayed courteous and professional, and I could tell he was doing his best in a chaotic situation. I feel bad that he has to work in a hotel that seems so poorly maintained and managed. We were waiting in line to cancel when we learned we were the third family doing the same thing. We and four other guests had initially been assigned a room that was already occupied, a serious safety issue. Our room smelled awful as soon as we entered, the floor was stained, the curtains filthy, and the TV didn’t work. The shower’s hot water valve just spun and wouldn’t work properly, the bathroom light was out, and even the elevator smelled like urine. We’re waiting to speak with a manager about reimbursement, which shouldn’t be in question given the condition. This was one of my worst hotel stays. Please don’t stay here. Avoid at all cost.

The room was very clean, the linens crisp, and the location great. But the property has seen better days, and the landscaping needs attention. There was no cream, milk, or half-and-half for the coffee. The owner needs to put money back into the franchise, and the manager wouldn’t listen when I explained that 12-inch-high weeds aren’t healthy for dogs.
The employee who checked me in had excellent customer service and deserves a raise. The rest of the team seemed numb to the problems and didn’t care. When a team member handed me towels, I showed her the hair on them, and she looked at me like it was something we just had to live with. This place was disgusting, filthy, and smelled like sewage. The towels had dark stains and hair on them, the floor was dirty and slippery, and I bought rugs at Dollar Tree but couldn’t make the room livable. There were holes in the curtains, and the walls, phone, and light fixtures were dirty. I vomited six times, couldn’t eat, and the tub was nasty. I bought rugs for the floor and tried to cover an ugly wall, but the manager told me to take the sign down and had a man with her remove it. It seemed like she had control issues. The sign couldn’t make an already unpleasant room look worse. Anyone who owns this place and sleeps well has problems. Even a homeless person deserves better standards. Don’t lay your head in a germ-infested, dirty hotel. They’ll say sorry but do nothing beyond saying what they need to sound professional. I want my money back for the lies and misrepresented advertising. The guest photos are true. The better hotel pictures from Gretna/Westbank are lies, lies. Deplorable, horrible. I believe a grave is more pleasant in death. Stayforlong, the third party, disappointed me by recommending this hotel. The price is a setup.
The condition of the hotel needs serious attention. Our room reeked of cigarette smoke, and the light stands, telephone, shower, and dryer were broken or falling apart. We checked out in a hurry after just our first day. Honestly, I’m surprised the business is still open like this. If the property isn’t suitable for guests, they should pause reservations and renovate before taking more bookings.
The front desk attendants were friendly, courteous, and professional, and helped where they could during our four-night stay. The room was another matter: the bed and drawers were broken, the tub was clogged, and there was trash beneath the bed and drawers. Worst of all, small brown roaches were throughout the hotel. I killed about 2-3 each night, and honestly, I was afraid to bring my luggage back into my home in case they came along. For what we paid, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.
