We didn't get the room I booked online, so my husband and I ended up sleeping in separate beds. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Housekeeping said the room wasn't on the cleaning list because maintenance work needed to be done. You have to ask if you want anything besides a sheet on the bed, and there was no phone in the room to call the front desk. The WiFi only worked in certain spots, and the TV had just one channel. If you're single and only need somewhere to sleep after coming in late, this might do. We wanted a place to relax and watch TV to wind down, and I wouldn't recommend it for that.

The room had roaches, and neither the sink nor shower had hot water. The bed was okay, and the staff were friendly, but those positives didn't outweigh the rest. The deadbolt rattled like it was barely attached to the frame, there was no other lock or chain, and the gap around the door seemed wide enough that someone who knew how could unlock it from inside. Paper had been stuffed into the peephole, which was really just an open hole. The reservation listing mentioned continental breakfast, but staff said they hadn't served breakfast in over a year because they were waiting for a juice machine. There was no ice machine either. Given that, I doubt it would have been very clean if there had been one.

The odor was strong everywhere, in the rooms and even at reception. I thought perhaps we'd just been given one bad room, so I asked to move. The second room was worse, and I handed the key back and left. Cockroaches and bugs were there as soon as I entered the first room, and the floors were visibly dirty. Now I understand why the reception had “NO REFUND” displayed in huge letters. Some sites call this a 3-star hotel, but the place was worse than a 1-star motel. Don't trust the rating. It's completely unacceptable.

There are only some rooms available while the new owner renovates the hotel. We just needed somewhere to sleep and left the next morning, so that part was fine. What I couldn't stand was the smoke in our non-smoking room. It smelled like cigarettes, weed, or something else all night, and I wanted to get out as soon as possible.
