My grandmother's ashes were in a urn necklace I left behind, and it's gone. I called the front desk on the way home when I realized, and the woman asked if I was coming back. I said I was already halfway home in an Uber, that we came almost every weekend, and asked her to keep it at the desk for my next visit. She said she'd tell housekeeping. About three weeks later, I went back in person. A different desk worker remembered seeing something but couldn't find it, and spent about 30 minutes searching. She asked why I hadn't called to say I was coming to get it. I used to work in security, where we'd keep left-behind items in the office, put valuable things like jewelry in a safe whether real or fake, and hold valuables for 90 days, with clothes and other less valuable items kept 30 days. I asked why it hadn't been put in a safe if it wasn't at the desk. The worker kept saying I should have called ahead. I don't think it should matter if I'd asked for it to be kept at the desk, put in a cup, or set on the counter. After a day or two, it should have been documented and locked away. It clearly wasn't, and nobody has called to apologize in over two weeks. This is after two other bad stays: the first time, I discovered a dead rat in the pool filter about 30 minutes after I'd been swimming. I reported it, and they offered points that never arrived. On another visit, I realized I was sitting in a jacuzzi with algae on the sides. I reported that too and got another promise of points that I never received. I won't stay here again. Given how the necklace went missing, I believe either someone at the front desk or in housekeeping is responsible, and it's awful to think someone would take a loved one's ashes.
The bathroom was one of the cleanest I've had in a hotel, and if the bed were fixed, I'd stay again. But it felt like sleeping on bricks. I asked for a comforter to soften it, without any luck. The sofa bed was no better, like trying to lie on a twisted pile of slinkys. I probably would've been more comfortable on the floor.
Alisha and Katrina made a regular hotel stay feel memorable. Both were warm, attentive, and knew what they were doing, and they made everything smooth and stress-free with their personal touch. The property was beautifully cared for, the atmosphere welcoming from arrival, and the details were well looked after. It's one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, and the staff set a high standard. I'm grateful to Alisha and Katrina for going above and beyond, and would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and really good service.
I really like this hotel and its staff, but one overnight front desk employee is rude enough that I had to write about it. I've been staying here for at least eight months, and most people know me by name. This employee doesn't, and during my latest reservation tried to add a $60 half-day charge even though I was paying for the new booking. He was extremely rude and couldn't check me in without help from the person ending their shift. I hadn't had issues before, but when he's on overnight, he turns out the lights and locks the hotel door. If you forget your key, there's nobody around to let you in because he can't be found. When he's working, don't expect clean towels or sheets, or anything from the market. The rest of the staff have been great, and I love the hotel apart from this one person.
After three weeks working through an agreement for the ballroom at Fairfield Inn and Suites in The Colony TX, I was ready to pay the deposit on a Friday and move forward. Erin Wilson said the space would be held for me and I could pay Monday or Tuesday since it was late. On Monday, Erin called in a cold tone to say it was no longer available because a colleague had contracted with someone else over the weekend. I'd thought the business office was closed then. Alma Lester was insensitive and said nothing could be done. Kate Gora, the general manager, was supposed to call but never did. No one offered any concession. Cresent hotels and resorts is the management company, not Marriot. The way Erin Wilson and especially Alma Lester treated us felt dishonest and showed no regard for customers. They went back on their word and had no character or integrity. A space I spent three weeks arranging went to someone else in a day. They should hire people who keep their word to customers. Shady business.
