Holiday Inn Express & Suites Plano - The Colony by IHG

The bathroom was the last straw: there was hair on the floor and soap residue left in the tub. The room door was visibly damaged, and the third-floor hallway had no air conditioning, so it was hot and unpleasant. We also saw several dead roaches in the elevator, which made us uneasy. There was trash outside the entrance when we arrived. The lobby looked clean, so we gave the place a chance and brought our luggage inside, but the rest of the hotel felt dirty and poorly maintained. Definitely not a pleasant stay. I have a photo of the damaged door, but Google won't let me upload it.

The staff keep us coming back, especially the hotel AGM Patricia Thomerson. She’s friendly, professional, and goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome. Breakfast and coffee are spot on, the rooms are very clean, and they provide plenty of towels. There’s also a small gym, handy after that breakfast, plus lots of parking that’s well lit at night. We first chose this hotel because it’s close to my son, who moved to Dallas about eight years ago. After our first visit, we liked it so much that it’s where we stay every time we come to see him.

The location made it easy to get around, and the hotel had what I needed for a relaxing visit. Housekeeping kept everything fresh each day, with little touches that made the stay feel special. I was there for two nights. The welcome was warm and attentive, check-in went smoothly, and my room was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. I slept especially well in the bed, and the amenities were top-notch. I’d gladly return and recommend the hotel to anyone visiting.

Plenty of space, and the room had all the basics: two queen beds, a desk, a small sofa, closet, iron and ironing board, hangers, mini fridge, microwave, and hair dryer. Breakfast was included, with a very good range of choices.
