Homewood Suites by Hilton Dallas The Colony

*World Traveler Review* Carmen and the hotel staff made my wife's birthday extra sweet while she was there on business. I had special sweets delivered, and they took them to her room, added a birthday card, and put the treats in her fridge. That extra effort made a great end to her day. Huge kudos to the staff for going above and beyond. Definitely recommend!

We keep coming back when visiting the Dallas Metro. There’s good dining and shopping nearby, and getting on and off the highways is easy. Breakfast is always fresh and good, too. The rooms are the one drawback for us. In each one we’ve stayed in, the breakers got overloaded and tripped. The box is in the room, so you can reset things, but the power seems overallocated. It could be a problem if something in the fridge were affected. Still, it’s a great place to stay.

The noise made it really hard to sleep. I could hear people in the hall and rooms above, doors slamming, and even feel the room and bed shake as people walked by. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, too. The front desk staff weren’t friendly or helpful. There wasn’t even toothpaste available as a complimentary toiletry, and when I asked about buying some, they were out. Between the poor comfort, constant noise, and service, this was a negative stay. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

The location is great, and the staff are friendly, but these are the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. I’ve had better nights in truck beds. We have one more night here, and I’m thinking of trying the hide-a-bed in the couch because surely it can’t be worse. I really can’t overstate how uncomfortable the beds are.
