After checking in, I went to Walmart and came back to find the room was filthy. The beds leaned, the TVs didn’t work, there were roaches, the bathrooms were dirty, and the lamps had been unwired from the wall. I don’t know how people stay in places like this. I’d give it zero stars if I could. They told me there was a no-refund policy, but I hadn’t seen that when booking. The woman at the desk wouldn’t call anyone to even try to get my money back, so I handed over the key and walked out.
Room 323. The bed skirts looked like they had old dried blood on them, and the whole place smelled like toe cheese. I walked into the bathroom and immediately saw a cockroach about the size of a small mouse. Then I spotted several smaller ones crawling around the walls. I might leave my bags in the car in case there are bed bugs. This room is comically bad, the worst hotel room I’ve ever seen by far. I’ve stayed in roadside motels in Mexico that were cleaner. Stay away.
Rooms were nasty and hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. There was some weird yellow liquid on the hallway floor, and nothing gets fixed. Maintenance is useless except when demanding money, or they tell you it’s “supposed to be like that.” The people staying here huddle outside and stare when you walk to your car, which is odd. Crystal is the only person who works there with even semi decent manners. They should retrain the staff. They’ve started having maintenance bang on your door every week demanding rent, even if you’ve lived here for months and always paid on time. They’ll even come into your room while you’re in there.
The location was a small plus, with food and entertainment only a few hundred feet away. But I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I’ve had better stays in $20-30 rooms, and this place didn’t even feel worth what I paid. I only ended up here because I was careless booking online. My room seemed clean at first, though it was very small. Then I noticed the office chair had broken wheels, a used bandage stuck on a shower shelf, and a green dental pick beside the spare toilet paper. There were also cigarette burns in the floor, like the room had once been used for smoking. The bed was okay, but had a deep dip next to the nightstand that made me feel I could roll off. I doubt the mattress has been rotated or flipped in a long time. There was no microwave, either. I went downstairs and waited behind someone checking in, who was given a first-floor room, even though I’d been told none were available when I asked for one because I had heavy things to carry. They’d said to check again the next day, after housekeeping had finished, but there still weren’t rooms. I also asked for a luggage cart and they didn’t have one. When I reported the missing microwave, the desk clerk said she’d submit a work order and I’d have to wait through the weekend. It never showed up. Police came and went a couple of times while I was there, and I saw staff chase a woman off the property. I also found a used syringe, and a short walk around the hotel was enough to smell various drugs being used. Don’t come here for a vacation. This feels like a place to stay only if you desperately need a roof for a while.
I left after only an hour. The room smelled awful, the cabinets were moldy and coming apart, and the towels looked dingy. Chairs and other surfaces were filthy, and there was a plastic bag over the smoke detector. Disgusting place. I can't recommend it.
