For the price, it’s absolutely worth staying here. My room seemed well cleaned, and the beds were comfortable. There was a mini-fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. The free breakfast was the usual sort of spread with cereal, muffins, a waffle bar, and so on. You can tell renovations have been going on, with the smell of fresh paint and all.

The room was clean, but old and not kept up. The walls are paper thin, so road noise comes through really loud. Half the outlets didn’t work, and neither did either lamp by the bed. They had a power strip plugged in for the fridge and microwave.

The rooms are all inside, which felt safer, and I’d stay again because it was quiet and reasonably priced. From the third floor there was a beautiful view and plenty of natural light. I loved the bay window and velvet window seat, and the bed was really comfortable and relaxing. The room was very clean, though a small insect was crawling in the tub. Some older repair work showed and could use touch-ups. The linen comforter had a stain that couldn’t be removed by washing, and several bathroom towels were dingy rather than snow white, though clean and provided in ample quantity. Breakfast was scanty. I enjoyed the waffle, but the orange and apple juice tasted sour and there was no fresh fruit. When we arrived, the front desk clerk went to the back and put a banana in the bowl. Customer service was average.

We only stayed one night, and even that felt far too long. The first floor smelled like cat pee, and when we reached our room the door was standing wide open. A quick look around seemed okay, so we settled in. Then we found filthy bathroom tile, a wobbly toilet, an empty toilet paper roll with its holder coming out of the wall, and a disgusting floor. My socks were black by the end of the night, and my wife stepped in something sticky. There were bugs behind the beds, cat hair on the window cushion, and broken drawers that fell off. Breakfast the next morning was the saddest excuse for a continental breakfast. The LED lights flickered and buzzed, with no music or ambience besides the front desk attendant angrily yelling at someone over the phone. The cereal was mislabeled, Frosted Flakes as corn flakes, and the Froot Loops were stale, stale. They were out of coffee. I asked the staff member at the desk if more was coming, and she ignored me for about 30 seconds. Then she said she’d get to it in a few minutes and made coffee with an irritated, disdainful attitude. It was a terrible place to stay. If you need to hunker down for a night in this part of the Triad, the Comfort Inn next door or your car seem better options.

For about two years of work travel around here, this has been one of the better lower-priced options. Nothing spectacular, and it’s not the cleanest. Breakfast choices aren’t elaborate, but they’re consistent.
