Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark-Wilmington South Area

The friendly, helpful service made this two-night stay such a refreshing experience. Dawn happily brought extra hot water for my tea at night, and the maintenance man was really nice and helpful too. The breakfast crew were just as welcoming. Everyone I met seemed to enjoy their work and their guests, and I was blown away by the level of care. If my son goes to University of Delaware, this is where we'll stay. The whole team deserves a round of applause.

The room was affordable, though the furniture and walls had scuffs and looked worn. The pool hours were great, and breakfast included a taco bar, a nice change from most hotel breakfasts.

We could easily walk to the U-Del stadium, and the regular beds were comfortable. Our room was clean, but the hotel is showing its age: lobby couch cushions had water stains on top and underneath when we pulled them out for the sofa bed. Breakfast was pretty terrible, and the staff seemed stretched thin during a sold-out weekend.

A Homewood Suites is supposed to be comfortable rather than luxurious, but Kiki at the front desk made the stay feel luxurious. She was the nicest, most polite desk worker I've met in the States. I usually get that kind of service at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. I'll come back because of her.
