White Columns Inn

I felt safe traveling alone, and the staff were all very pleasant. The first-floor accessible room was laid out well, with plenty of grab bars, and it was immaculate with a wonderful bed. I could park right by the room, and the price was affordable with a hot buffet breakfast included. The lobby’s grand staircase and the fireplace in the dining room gave the place a homey Southern feel. I was exhausted when I arrived and liked what I’d read in the description. I didn’t see hot water for tea, which was the one drawback. There’s also a charging station for electric cars. It’s no Hilton, but I’d stay here anytime I’m in Thomson, Georgia.

The rooms are clean, the beds are soft, and the showers get hot. Breakfast is decent, too. What really stood out was how accommodating the staff were, always doing their best to help with what you need. There’s a full bar, a pool table, and rocking chairs with a Southern country feel. It’s an older place and some furniture and other things could use updating, so don’t expect a Marriott. Still, stop in!

The only real problem was the room’s location beside some sort of pump or water heater. It made a lot of noise whenever people used it. I could sleep with the bathroom door shut, though. I stayed two nights on the way to an archery shoot, and found the hotel very clean and pretty nice. There’s a proper bar with a pool table, plus free breakfast. I’d give it 8/10. Very clean, much comfy, wow.

We were satisfied with the stay, and the staff were friendly. Our room showed some wear, but everything worked. There was no soap, and the office said they were out. There’s no daily room service, so you have to bring used towels to the office to exchange them. The ice machines in the room area were broken, and we had to get our ice bucket filled at the office.
