The front desk staff were polite, and I liked that the free breakfast had half-and-half and some hot food, including biscuits and gravy. The coffee was basically brown water, the weakest I’ve had at a hotel. The room and lobby seemed clean and fairly recently updated, but the rest of the stay was awful. There was no hot water in the shower or sink, and the king bed had a too-small queen sheet that I had to keep pulling back over the corners all night. The TV was already on when I arrived, which made me wonder who had been in the room. I was also placed about four feet from the elevator and five feet from the ice machine, and the noise was intolerable even with white-noise earbuds. I was promised a refund for the hot-water problem and still haven’t received it. I didn’t feel comfortable checking out the pool or fitness center because it was so noisy and there were sketchy people in the lobby and outside. I got there close to 11 pm and walked in on a woman and her extended family yelling at the front desk clerk. After years of work travel, this was my second-worst hotel experience. I would have felt safer and more comfortable in my car. I booked through the Hotel.com app and won’t use it again.

I’m still waiting for my $50 deposit, which I wasn’t told about when I called to ask about a room and made the reservation by phone. I got the room Thursday and it’s Monday now. I paid by card, so how long does this take? I’m furious about the rest of this experience too. We stayed one night a few days ago before moving into our new place, and I accidentally left my baby’s pack-and-play mattress in the room. I know for sure it was there. When I called the front desk to ask them to check and hold it for me, the woman who answered was rude, condescending, and dismissive from the start. I had to explain what I meant four times. The fifth time, when I was getting frustrated, she snapped that she’d “check” and only call if they found it. A quick call either way would have taken two minutes and shown basic courtesy. Instead I was treated like a nuisance. Now I’m out $55 and have to buy another mattress for my baby. Maybe housekeeping threw it away, maybe someone took it, or maybe the front desk worker couldn’t be bothered to look or follow up. The mattress was definitely left there. The lack of care and professionalism has me regretting the stay. This is unacceptable.

There’s a reason this is a two-star hotel. The room was tiny and loud, with thin walls that let in everything from outside. It took ten minutes of running the water before it even got warm. I heard the place gets shot up frequently. Homeless people filled the lobby at night because the doors aren’t locked like at other hotels, and there were people all around outside during the day. My car was broken into while parked right in front of the building.

The only good thing was that the front desk staff were friendly. The room was dirty and badly maintained: the toilet seat was disgusting, there was a suspicious blue liquid under the sink, and the two lamps had no bulbs and were glued to the tables. The TV was fake and didn’t work, and the air conditioner wouldn’t cool the room properly, which stayed warm despite my changing the temperature and settings. There was no hot water. I thought it might be because the few guests I believed were long-term tenants had used it all. Breakfast was disappointing too, just waffles and biscuits with gravy, without eggs or sausage. People left clothes in the laundry machines for over six hours, so the laundry room was unusable. We were put in the basement because we had a dog, though we saw other guests taking their dogs upstairs. Around the hotel, people lingered in the parking lot and seemed suspicious. At night there was banging on doors, shouting, and arguing in the hallways. Kids from the long-term tenants were throwing rocks at cars, and police got involved. Girls sat in the breakfast lounge undoing their hair at night, and later hair extensions were scattered in the halls and parking lot. A cleaning staff member even came into my room at 3:30 AM, which was unsettling and completely inappropriate. With the poor upkeep, no hot water, unsafe feeling, and constant noise, I can’t recommend this place. Maybe it works if you just need a cheap place to crash, but if you care about comfort, safety, or cleanliness, avoid it.
