Lazy J Ranch Motel

The setting is gorgeous, with river access and a phenomenal view of the surrounding mountains. There’s plenty to do on site too: a pool with a gazebo, tetherball, a kids’ jungle gym, and an enclosure with very friendly sheep and goats. The motel was decorated for Valentine’s Day, which was cute. Our room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the staff were very sweet. I liked the rustic touch of the fireplace heater. The only thing that wasn’t ideal was the fairly weak shower pressure.

The location worked well for visiting the park and nature trails, and I found the booklet in the room about town and the surroundings really helpful. The rooms are clean and cozy, a little outdated but charming, and the staff are gentle and nice. It felt like being at home. We loved seeing the animals out back and petting Turtle. The Halloween decorations were awesome and made me want to return for Christmas. If you’re in room #12, have a look at the painting above the bed, maybe it’s an easter egg?

We were just minutes from town, with lots of restaurants, pizzerias, and grocery stores close by, and it was easy to get to the park. We had a wonderful two-night stay. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and our room felt super cozy, with a gas fireplace. Highly recommended!

It’s super conveniently located outside Sequoia NP, and I’d happily stay here again if I’m in the area. The rooms were clean and cozy, with huge comfy beds and the softest sheets. They had lots of amenities, including the usual things plus shower caps and makeup remover. The grounds were decorated for Halloween in October, which was fun, and the friendly staff gave us lots of information about the area. Would definitely recommend.
