The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. The plumbing worked, which was a relief after our last stop, and we found the room clean enough. It’s an older place, so we expected some wear, and we checked the bed and room for bugs without finding any. Staff seemed good, and we had no service complaints. The hotel was handy for I-95 and Walmart, which I needed to visit. The nearby area looked a little run-down, though about a mile farther along things looked different. The towels were the problem. We got just one hand towel, two washcloths, and two bath towels, so I didn’t have a hand towel to dry my hair with. Worse, black hairs came off both my towel and my husband’s: short, kinky tufts and long strands. I’m a redhead, so it wasn’t mine, and I had to pick it off his back. It was really disturbing. I joked that the laundry staff seemed to be shedding, though that could be a health issue worth checking. Breakfast was okay. I had eggs, sausage, and coffee; the eggs weren’t seasoned, and most of the other options were heavy on carbs. There were small apples, one small orange, waffles, cereal, biscuits, and so on. I’d have liked red pepper flakes, but that’s just my taste. The breakfast room felt cramped, so we ate by the pool. Sitting outside was nice, though the pool was closed. For watching TV, you have to cast from a phone through Netflix or YouTube. That was new for us, and oddly it wouldn’t work with my iPad. The hotel worked for what we needed, and we got a good rest before continuing our trip.

We had two people in a double room, but after checkout I’d tell people to skip this motel. There were bugs in the bathroom, at the sink, and in the bed. Once home, I noticed bites on my back and hips. The mattress was so worn out, with broken-down springs, that I felt like I was sleeping in a hole. One bath towel had a black stain about 8-10 inches long and 2-3 inches wide. We asked for clean towels and called reception three times, but none arrived. The room also had two bath towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths total. Housekeeping never came on the second day to make the beds, bring fresh linens, or take out the trash. We called twice, and still nobody showed up. While we waited to check out, another guest reported a blocked toilet and was handed a plunger to use herself. She was told to leave it outside afterward for housekeeping to collect. Seriously? The rooms are across the parking lot from reception, which didn’t feel safe to me, and there’s no elevator for carrying heavy things upstairs. One bright spot was the woman who checked us out. She listened and apologized for everything. I don’t know her name, but the manager should: she was a petite woman with short dark hair and glasses. This was the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. I’ve seen better accommodations in third-world countries.

Rayne was wonderful, and the staff were all very nice. She deserves five stars for the customer service. The room was well used but mostly clean, and the spring bed was close to uncomfortable, like it was nearing the end of its life. The AC took a couple of hours to settle down and sounded like someone revving a car in the room. Fine for one night, and I’d rate the stay 3 1/2 stars overall. Thanks, Rayne.

The room was clean and comfortable, and for the price it was better than I expected. Breakfast was okay, with biscuits and gravy, eggs, yogurt, toast, coffee, and juice. The serving room is a little small. Thea at the front desk was the standout. She was friendly, helpful, and smiling, and went out of her way to get us checked in early. She arranged a first-floor room for my father and a second-floor room for me nearby. If I’m passing through Titusville again, I’ll stay here.

The room looked dated, but it was very clean. The walls are thin, though: the first night was quiet, but on night two the guest next door had the TV blaring past 2 a.m. Around 2 a.m. on the third night, someone checked in above us. A child ran and yelled, and furniture, a luggage rack, and other things kept getting dragged or dropped for more than an hour and a half. I asked the staff to step in at 4 a.m., and they did; the noise stopped. At checkout, I asked why our bed hadn’t been made and we hadn’t received linen service during our three-night stay. Staff said service only happens by request, though fresh towels are provided daily. I pointed out that the plastic placard in the room says linen service is provided every day unless guests ask otherwise. The staff member didn’t know the placard was there. I’ll attach a photo of it.
