Days Inn By Wyndham Titusville Kennedy Space Center

The bathroom hadn’t been fully cleaned after the previous guest. There were long black hairs in the shower, used soap on the tub, and a used toothpaste tube with its wrapper on the floor behind the bathroom door. We were given a handicapped room without asking, which made using the bathroom sink difficult. The air conditioner noise kept me awake. Apparently you get what you pay for.

We had a great vacation here, kayaking and spending time at the nearby beaches and rivers. Most of the workers were kind and funny, and the room was big and clean. The towels were clean too, though they had a slightly greasy feel. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean. My only real downside was that our room had just one sink.

The shower was grimy-looking, like it had been used before we arrived, and the floor seemed to have a badly stuck patch that wasn’t adhering properly. There was hair all over the room, and I have locs, so it clearly wasn’t mine. The bed was uncomfortable, and the AC kept cycling on and off even though it was set to 70 degrees. The room stayed so hot it made me feel stuffed up. I hate trying to sleep in a hot room. No other rooms were available, so we were stuck with it. The only thing that seemed untouched was the towels and their tags. Never again. Check-in was awful too. The front desk woman was somewhat rude and kept taking phone calls while I was checking in instead of asking me to hold. Her tone was full of attitude, and I swear she was dragging the process out on purpose. IHOP was attached, but had a small menu. I wasn’t bothered by that, but the cook put so much butter on my bread that it ruined what should have been a great sandwich. The place smelled like weed around nearly every turn. Pets are allowed in the rooms, and they claim to have pet rooms, but who knows. Some areas smelled awful, and there was standing water beneath the AC units outside. Disgusting. This seems to be a privately owned hotel and not American-run either. Do better, Wyndham!

The room was quiet, and they did provide towels and soap. I didn't see bugs or mold, but there was an occasional swampy smell during the night. The beds were comfortable, though I slept on top of the blanket because the sheets were stained, and the blanket on the other bed was stained too. The lamps were rusty, and the tiny bathroom didn't feel clean enough for me to sit on the toilet. The vending machine and ihop next door were handy, but the place felt poorly cleaned throughout. Really disappointing, especially from a Wyndham motel. Don't stay here.
