The only real snag was the curtain that wouldn’t close all the way, so we had to clip it shut to block a streetlight shining right into the room. Otherwise, we had no complaints. The beds and bedding were soft and clean, and the AC was nearly silent, so we slept well. Towels were soft, check-in and checkout were easy, and the front desk workers were delightful. Breakfast was free, hot, and dependable. There were lots of useful amenities, including packaged deodorants guests could take, a vending machine with actual food, and big bottles of bathroom supplies. Good food and gas stations were practically within walking distance. For anything else you’d need a car, since this isn’t a big city.

The staff is exceptional, but the remodel is a huge downgrade for me. My king room used to have a long desk in the middle, useful for working, and now there’s a small, wobbly round table with no room to keep everything in front of you. The chair is stiff and uncomfortable. This feels like a design change for nicer website photos, not for guests who need to work or relax in their rooms. Even Motel 6 has a desk, and there are better choices nearby. The door also made a loud metal pop every time it rubbed against the frame when I opened it. They also replaced the caramel waffle sauce with kiwi lime, which is gross. I’m a Diamond member and stay here often, but I’ll be going elsewhere and won’t return.

We expected less than we got and were more than satisfied. The rooms were extra clean and quiet, even though ours was close to the freeway. Prices were very reasonable, and it’s a wonderful place to stay, especially with a pet. I’d definitely come back if I needed a hotel for the night.

Construction was underway, but we didn’t hear a thing and it didn’t bother us. The room was clean, breakfast was delicious and hot, and the staff were friendly. One morning, though, we stepped out of the elevator into a strong ammonia or vinegar smell while they were mopping. They should change the floor cleaner if they can. Otherwise, it was a great stay.
