The views and location were great, and the new manager and staff were very nice. We enjoyed chatting with other travelers around the fire pit. The property is still being updated, and the pool wasn’t available to us, which is why I gave it four stars. I plan to stay here again when we return to the area.

I needed a last-minute room while traveling with my dog, and this turned out to be a great find. The property is spacious, quiet, and very pet-friendly, which made it perfect for us. I’m glad I found it and can’t wait to stay again next time I’m passing through town.

The place is quiet and conveniently located for the shops. I stayed here for the first time, but it won’t be my last. The front desk clerk said they had joined the Best Western portfolio a few weeks earlier and were working on updates to the property.

UPDATE: I’m responding to the owner’s original reply so other guests have the full picture. It addressed only the dog issue, even though the dog had been approved before arrival and at check-in. Staff on site had told me we could leave the dog in the room while we were out. Their reply said nothing about charging me twice for the room or the other major concerns in my original post. If you’re traveling with dogs, service dogs or not, or with kids, be aware of these issues. If you’re willing to lose more than $200 for the night on top of the room price, have no dogs or kids, and are fine with coffee and toast, the location is good. The location was great, but I was charged twice for my room and, despite being promised a refund, still hadn’t received it from management two months later. The front desk was nice, but housekeeping was rude to my family in front of the kids. They locked me out while my dog was stuck inside, then belittled me because the dog was in the room and complained that they’d have to remove and wash all the bedding. I had disclosed the dog in my file, paid the extra fee at booking and check-in, and confirmed I could leave the dog in the room while out. The key card had only been set for one night even though I paid for two. After housekeeping acted as if we were at fault, we had to get the key reprogrammed for the full stay so we could get the dog outside. Breakfast ran out of food and drinks early one day, and the next day the selection was very small and coffee ran out. The dog area was rough on paws and cut them up. Light from outside shone through the window all night. There was no toilet paper holder, animal hair under the beds, and a pillow that was a big ball of stuffing and shouldn’t have been on the bed. The door stuck and was hard for little kids to open. The window leaked in the rain, and cold drafts came through near the front bed from the windows and door. WiFi didn’t work during our whole stay, so I couldn’t keep up with work while on vacation. I waited before reviewing to give the place a chance to follow through, but the missing refund made me feel I needed to let people know what can happen. Don’t reserve online, because they may charge that card and then run it again at check-in without refunding you. There also wasn’t enough parking for the rooms in the first building, so you may have to walk a bit if you’re disabled.
