Rest Inn Toms River

I paid for a week in advance while visiting friends, then had to add two more days and got charged $20 more per night than my original rate. The rooms are far too small for two people, and the carpet was filthy and crusty. There was what looked like spilled fried rice stuck between the wall and the head of the nasty full-size bed. Free WiFi was the only good thing about this cheap motel.

This was the worst place I've ever stayed. There were bed bugs and fleas, needles left in rooms, and cigarette holes in comforters that they don't wash. The managers were awful and extremely rude. I saw tons of drug trafficking and overdoses here, and it definitely didn't feel safe. Stay far away.

The location is handy, close to lots of good places and resources, and it could work if you're booking at the last second and desperate for somewhere near the beach. But it's seedy and smelly, and overpriced. The advertised pool doesn't work. Don't arrive expecting much.

There's no TV in my room and no internet on the property. The place was dirty, seedy, and full of crack and heroin. It actually makes the methadone clinic next door look bad. The county uses it to house people I considered degenerates and junkies who don't want to work and live off the system. The owners and managers don't speak English, and it seemed to me they were only there for the county's $350-a-week voucher. Be careful even pulling into the parking lot to turn around. The photos were taken ten minutes after the managers finished cleaning the room, and I saw two others that weren't any cleaner. Stay away.
