Days Inn by Wyndham Topeka

The rooms were disgusting: there were dirty bandages, moldy bedding, torn up flooring, and a ceiling that was caving in. We left after going into the room, then asked for a refund, but they refused. We had to spend $200 on another nearby hotel at the last minute and got no refund or apology. Expedia called the “manger” too, and she also declined the refund. I think her name was Cindy? I even provided pictures and will upload them here.

Completely disappointed. The pool was closed, and the pictures are clearly very old. It had thick slime on top and looked like it had been out of service for a long time. The doors were rotting at the bottom, the place was run down, and there were no fridges or microwaves in the rooms. Breakfast was an apple, a protein bar, and a small pack of donuts in a brown paper bag. There was glass and mattresses on the sidewalk, and the TV kept glitching. You have to sit on the toilet to close the bathroom door.

Ricky checked me in, and Jennifer had my room ready and clean. A++++ service, and the room was super clean. Thanks to you both for making my Days Inn stay great. I'll be back. The coffee pot needs replacing, though, and it should come with creamers and spoons. Please add some breakfast options for more guests, including sugar free items. Owners, could we get these things soon? I'm a repeat customer.

The staff were solid, and Will, a manager, was friendly and offered us a “better” room. Rick at the front desk was amazing, even before we checked in, when I called the day before. He's the only reason I didn't cancel and book somewhere else. The room itself was run down and overpriced. There was a used bandage on the bedside table, cigarettes on the floor, several broken outlets, cracked walls and ceiling, exposed wires, and a toilet that leaked quite a bit when flushed and kept running. The shower was janky, with warm water only when the handle was turned all the way left. The door didn't quite shut all the way even when locked, and shifted whenever hallway air pressure changed, like when someone closed another room's door. Breakfast was just apples and stale breakfast bars. I'd spend the extra $20-30 and stay elsewhere.
