The rooms seem to have had the bare minimum done during remodeling, and most of the hotel still looks decades old. The carpet, paneling, and fixtures are still there, along with loose fittings, damaged walls and doors, and an air conditioner that rattles. This Holiday Inn has definitely seen better days. It has a seedy motel feel, though at least without the worry of being a crime victim. Book if that’s the kind of place you want.
Breakfast was good, and the counter service was great. The room was clean, but the beds were hard and the shower pressure was low. There’s no microwave in the room, which feels pretty cheap. I was glad work was paying. I’d never stay here on my own dime, especially not for four nights.
I chose this place because I’m a Holiday Inn member and wanted the points, but $130 was way too much for what we got. There are nicer and cheaper hotels nearby. Breakfast tasted good, though by 7 they’d run out of bacon and cinnamon rolls, and it took about 15 minutes for more to come out. The hallways and rooms look old and dingy, and the walls are thin enough that we could hear people talking and doors slamming while we tried to sleep. It’s fine if you just need a bed for one night.
The pool needs cleaning. There was dirt and hair on the bottom, and I hope they have a policy to keep people off the street from just coming in for breakfast. Still, the stay was pleasant, much better than that motel down the road, and the breakfast was good.
We come back whenever we travel through. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and there’s a good range of breakfast choices. It’s right off the highway, so it’s convenient too.
