The owner was attentive and really friendly, and I’d definitely come back. The room had a good-sized fridge and microwave, plus furnishings I especially liked, solid wood and good quality. It was clean and felt homey, with plenty of places for necessities within walking distance.

The bed was even more comfortable than the one at home, and the bathroom looked like it may have been remodeled. We also had a good-sized fridge with a separate freezer. We came to Traer for the weekend because my husband was celebrating his 53rd class reunion in a neighboring small town. The sad part was that the owners knew they needed to put down their 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel. It’s so hard when a pet is part of the family.

Scott was really friendly and accommodating when we arrived. The rooms were clean, and the beds were actually super comfy, which mattered most to me. They’re pet friendly too, and I’d stay here again for sure.

We were visiting relatives in nearby Dysart, IA, which doesn’t have a motel, so The Golden Door Motel in Traer, IA gave us a place to stay. This was our second visit, and we stayed for two days this week. We rented three separate rooms, and all three were great and very clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Scott, the owner, gets back to you really quickly. Our room was spacious and clean, with extra counter space and a full refrigerator, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was convenient, and we’ll stay there again.
