Beach Condominium Hotel

The view was spectacular, and we could walk straight out to the beach. Our room was spacious, with a full kitchen and all the utensils, and the price was very reasonable. The office only stays open until 8 p.m., which is a little inconvenient. We wanted to use the in-room hot tub, but there wasn't a plug. I'd definitely stay again.

The location is still a big plus, but it's become hard to justify staying at The Beach Condominium. We've come every fall for many years, and started bringing my sister-in-law and elderly Mom along. We used to love the rooms, location, friendly staff, and services. Rates have jumped dramatically over the last few years. We know other hotels, condos, and lodgings have raised prices too, and businesses need to make a profit. Still, after staying at the same place for so long, it's hard not to notice how much the increases add up. When we visited last year, the facility and exterior looked tired and badly in need of updates, as did some of the units. Prices have gone way up while services have shrunk, almost disappeared. The $90 cleaning fee also feels excessive, especially since we're required to take out our own garbage. We don't mind doing that, we do it at home, but we don't get paid $90 for it. Maybe we're still old school and expect more bang for our buck. The price hikes are discouraging when rates are much higher and services are few and far between. We'll likely have to visit the TC area less often or try to find a cheaper place to stay. Sorry for the mini rant.

The East Bay looked beautiful from our private balcony. The setting was lovely, with a full kitchen, laundry, shower, and jacuzzi. Staff were very helpful and worked with us on a late check-in since we were coming from downstate. The beach was clean, sandy, and looked safe for kids. We can't wait to return for a longer stay.

I had a horrible stay and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The bathrooms had mold, some electrical outlets didn't work, and the front door didn't latch properly. We had to use the dead bolt, but the keys wouldn't work in it from outside. The beach-chair cushions were ripped, and the foam inside looked moldy. The sleeper sofa was broken, so we had to figure out somewhere else for three little ones to sleep that night. Walking around, we noticed condemned stickers on the outside doors of some units, saying they had failed inspections and couldn't be rented. We left after one of our three nights. The front desk knew the sleeper sofa was broken but hadn't told me at check-in. I asked for a refund for the rest of the trip and was denied. I filed a formal complaint with the BBB, but the resort never responded. This is one star only because the site requires a one-star minimum.
