Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Traverse City, MI

The hotel itself is nice, but the 11 signs saying not to bring my SS Yeti into the pool and hot tub area or risk being banned really pissed me off. I always choose a hotel with a hot tub so I can have a drink and relax for 15 minutes.

The stay started out nicely, but a payment problem spoiled it because there was no manager on site to help. My credit card company notified me that I had been charged twice. Before leaving, I asked the front desk to fix it, but they said this often happens with Booking.com and would probably clear on its own. No one even checked the computer. During my vacation I called three times. On the first call, they confirmed the double charge and said someone would fix it that night, but nothing happened. On the second, they told me to call the next day to speak with a manager. I called at 8:30 am, and was told the manager was in meetings all day and unavailable. If the company is paying someone to be manager, they aren't doing the job. I'm now looking at other options.

The pool was large, which my 13 yr old daughter loved, but sadly the hot tub was broken. It looked like it might be a quick repair. We were pleased and would stay again. The price was $215 for our June 23 stay at this Country Inn & Suite of Traverse City. It was my first time at a Country Inn, since I usually stay at Holiday Inn. The place was clean. The decor isn't especially trendy or up to date, but the beds were comfortable, the shower and bathroom were clean, and the air conditioning was nice and not too loud, with an easy to adjust temperature. Breakfast was typical, with eggs, sausage, and make your own waffles.

For the price, honestly, 10/10. Everything was clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast changed a little each day, which was nice. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. The location is convenient, close to downtown and also handy for getting out to the outskirts.
