Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Traverse City

Sunny at the front desk is so considerate and polite. I told my sister he brightens my day and makes me want to choose this hotel. It’s always clean and quiet here, and they have dog treats in the lobby if you bring your dog. My Dad lives in Traverse City, so I visit often and always look forward to staying here.

For me, this was an expensive treat on a limited income, so I take the cost seriously. I booked a rare break from work, but the service disappointed me, and when I tried to raise that directly, I didn’t feel anyone took it seriously. A $70 room should get the same class of service as a higher-priced one. It’s just a room, and they can’t deliver blankets. I also ended up with athlete’s foot, which I don’t remember ever having before. I emailed and called, but got no discount, chance to try again, or refund. I’m not a fan.

I’m thankful to have a roof over my head after a very difficult 24 hours, including five hours left out in the snow before the Goodwill Inn helped me. Michelle at the front desk treated me with kindness and respect when I was at a low point. My corner room is by a car wash, and doors slam nearby, leaving my traumatized dogs on edge and barking. Michelle understood when I asked to move, but the hotel was full. The toilet wasn’t working when I arrived, so I fixed it myself to spare the next guest trouble, then told staff. Between the noise and lack of sleep, this has been hard.

The sleeper sofa mattress had food crumbs on it when we opened it, and it was stained. The extra blanket for the sofa bed had cigarette burns. We had a king jacuzzi room with a sleeper sofa. Also, the extra $25 per night for a dog is ridiculous, and that fee should be shown on the reservation so people know before check-in.
