Lull-Abi Inn

The location was excellent, and the woman we spoke with was very nice. She called at 1:23 pm to say the room was ready and offered to leave a key if we weren't there soon. We were finishing up in Fish Creek, so we headed over, even though we'd thought check-in wasn't until 3. She said she'd just been in the room to turn on the heat. The door was wide open when we arrived, and on a lovely 60-degree day, the heat was running. She was only helping a friend and was leaving, but told us to ring Room 4's buzzer if we needed anything, since a maintenance worker was there. Before we arrived, my daughter had found reviews mentioning lots of bugs and even bed bugs. We didn't see any, just one spider on the ceiling, so we felt okay staying. But the top lock on the door wouldn't work, and the bathroom window was extremely hard to shut. The room also felt like it was straight out of the 50s. The hair dryer was completely broken, and I unplugged it because I was worried it might cause a fire if left connected. The bed was awful too. With the foam pad on top, it sank so far that we were below the bedside table. The mildew smell was the worst part. With the door open and heat on, we hadn't noticed it at first, but after dinner we opened the door and got hit with it. I was so excited for the weekend that where we stayed didn't seem to matter. I'll know better next time. Door County is a majestic place, and a mishap or two or three at Lull-Abi Inn didn't ruin an otherwise great weekend.
