The pillows were a big win for me. I'm particular about them, and these were fluffy and easy to shape around my head, so I slept well. We also brought our dog and enjoyed walking him because Vic is just a block from the water. Someone at the front desk was courteous and helpful. We'd definitely stay again.

The King Suite was spacious, and that bed was incredible. The Vic felt like a brand-new hotel, with modern decor and very clean rooms. Self check-in was easy, and this was the best deal in TC. We may splurge on the Kasa Boardwalk downtown next time. We checked it out while there, and it looked amazing, across the street from the Thirsty Fish and a block from Front st. We'll definitely book The Vic again.

We stayed at The Vic in the off-season as a family of four, and the price seemed well below market, so maybe you get what you pay for. The interior looks beautiful at first: modern, well-appointed, with a gorgeous lobby where a receptionist would sit if one existed. There's a stone fireplace with no fire and a TV beside it looping an image of a fire. It felt like a metaphor for the place. There seemed to be no more than five other rooms rented, but the few guests were clustered right on top of or beside one another. I've never stayed somewhere with floors and walls this thin. As we unloaded, the downstairs neighbor banged on the ceiling, then did it two more times. I immediately texted the only contact they provide and asked to move; we'd been in the room for 30 minutes. The neighbor eventually came and banged on our door too. I texted several more times to explain how serious it was. I later spoke with the upset neighbor, who said he'd try to ignore the noise because our son has special needs and was making it. We spent 24 hours walking on eggshells. The text contact finally replied about 20 hours after my first message, telling us not to worry about the neighbor because he was leaving that day. It felt like they waited out our complaint, never mind the disruption he was dealing with. The price is cheap, so keep your expectations low. Once you're checked in, there's essentially no service. No staff are onsite except for an occasional cleaning crew, who can't help with anything.

Miranda at The Vic turned a stressful situation around by letting us check in early, and I'm so grateful. After a rough few days dealing with serious problems at the Days Inn, I finally got here with a friend's help. What a difference. It can be hard to find a place that's genuinely pet-friendly, nice, and understanding, but this stay has been a breath of fresh air. Miranda was warm and welcoming right away, which helped me relax. My dogs have calmed down and aren't constantly on guard anymore. I even had to shower Phoebe, and she loved the blow-dryer! It's a relief to have somewhere we all feel safe and comfortable for the night. I hope to have a more permanent place for us after tomorrow, but for now I'm very thankful for the kindness and quality of the stay. If you're traveling with pets in Traverse City, this is the place to be.

I was hesitant at first about the lack of in-person interaction and having to use technology to verify my identity. It turned out fine, and we had a pleasant stay. Compared with other hotels, this place feels less personal, almost industrial. The rooms are contemporary, and the bottled water and Great Lakes chips were a nice touch. The shower's body wash pump didn't work. Since there was no person to ask, I didn't bother texting about something so minor. The bed and pillows were both wonderful. The price can't be beat anywhere in the city, and we'll stay here on our next visit.
