Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Trinidad

The location was awful, with trash around the hotel and a shared parking lot with a run-down marijuana dispensary. Even the employee warned me to watch out for thieves and people hanging around. Service was basically nonexistent: no breakfast, coffee, or anything else. The rooms were old and rundown, and some weren’t even in good enough shape to rent. They were dirty, with spiderwebs, mold throughout the shower, and cat food left all over the ground by previous guests. This isn’t a good hotel or a good representation of Trinidad.

We arrived later than expected, but the manager was still there waiting for us and was glad to have us. I was already emotionally worn out from coming to Trinidad because my uncle had passed away, and he was kind and helpful. He told us the hotel had reopened just a few days earlier after renovations. The room was cozy and comfortable, and I fell asleep as soon as I lay down. The next morning I stayed in the hot shower forever, the pressure was just right, the head adjusted, and there was a tub for kids who like baths. The Wi-Fi was free and there were plenty of TV channels. I’ll be back soon for my uncle’s funeral services, and will definitely stay here with my family.

The breakfast listing was my biggest issue. Both online and in the room’s amenities list, it said a hot breakfast was included. In reality, the only breakfast was four cereal boxes behind the front desk, with nothing else, and they offered no price adjustment. That felt unfair. The room itself was dated and could use a facelift, but it was very clean. Everything worked except one lamp.

I booked online through Hopper at a fair price and stayed four days. It was quiet, and housekeeping was on point. Ashley, you gave excellent service. The manager was great too and knows how to talk to people having a bad day. Thanks so much.
