Lakeside Resort and Motel

Wedding coordinators and brides, I’d look elsewhere. The Lakeside at Trout Creek took our money and made promises they didn’t keep, then held onto the payment when they failed to meet the contract terms. A month before the wedding, we were told the staff had no idea we needed the bridal cabin and getting ready space, and that everything was booked. After our out-of-town guests cancelled, they left a message saying a cabin had somehow become available, but we’d have to leave by 11 a.m. even though the wedding was booked for 4 p.m. They also don’t return calls. For the price, there are better venues. I’d give the service and accommodations minus 10 if I could.

The Huckleberry milkshakes are still the thing I enjoy most when I come through Trout Creek. They’re rich, smooth, and delicious, and I’ve never been disappointed by them. My wife and I ordered takeout this time. The corn, potatoes, and fries were really good, though the food overall wasn’t horrible. My bison burger was a little burnt, which was disappointing.

We were in town for a wedding and liked the breakfast so much that we came back twice. Eating outside with our chug puppies was a big plus, and the lake view made it even nicer. Joann cooked a wonderful chicken fried steak, which I thought was exceptional. My husband is picky about breakfast, but he was happy with it. The eggs came out hot, just as ordered, and without a long wait. Thanks, Lakeside 😊

The burgers were phenomenal. I had the Mountain Man hamburger with prime rib, and my wife got the 47 north, a turkey and bacon burger with Huckleberry sauce. Such a beautiful spot, friendly people, and amazing food.
