Days Inn by Wyndham Troy IL

I booked and paid online with Affirm, got the itinerary details, and received a text saying to reply if I needed staff help. I texted that I’d arrive around midnight or later. When I got there at 1 a.m., the door was locked and it was 32 degrees outside. After I rang the bell three times, a couple came out of a room and tried to talk to me through a raised window. I told them I was freezing. One of them eventually opened the door, then said they had no reservation for me or anything downstairs. I’m handicapped and had reserved a handicapped room, but he could only offer me an upstairs room. I said I couldn’t climb stairs. The reservation was a huge disappointment, and the staff were very hard to understand. I’ll never consider a Days Inn in Troy, IL, or anywhere else, again.

All the downstairs rooms, including the handicap rooms, were being renovated. That wasn’t mentioned when booking online, but once we arrived they refused to give us a downstairs room, so we had to climb the stairs. In the morning I asked for a receipt and was told the printer was broken and they’d email it. I wanted an actual receipt, not an email. I won’t stay there again.

My stay at Days Inn by Wyndham Troy IL was smooth from check-in through check-out, and the room was spotless, comfortable, and had amenities that exceeded my expectations. The bed was especially cozy. Sagar and the front desk team made me feel welcome with their friendly, helpful service, and went out of their way to make the visit a great one. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare. I had a wonderful, relaxing, hassle-free stay, highly recommend the place, and will definitely return. Thank you!

It’s a pretty standard motel, and I wouldn’t recommend a long stay. The bed was clean and fairly comfortable, but the room smelled musty when we first came in. We also noticed a bug in the bathroom, a crack in the ceiling by the entrance, and another in the baseboard.
