Quality Inn

The photos gave the wrong impression. This is a motel in a sketchy area, and I wouldn’t recommend it for families. Maybe it would suit men traveling alone. The front office had been renovated, but it was a little way from the rooms. Our first floor room was old and smelled bad, and the furniture, carpet, and bathroom looked nothing like the pictures. When we arrived in the evening, the room and parking lot felt unsettling. Almost all of the 20 rooms along our row were empty, except for one neighboring guest who seemed like he might be a drug user when he parked and went inside. We went straight to the office to ask for a room at the back, where we’d seen four or five cars. Even then, with young children, we barely slept that night. We won’t stay here again.

I won’t be coming back. The toilet wasn’t secured to the floor and sat at an odd angle, the shower wall had broken pieces, and the hard water left my skin feeling slimy. The bed bases were new sheet metal ones that squeaked loudly, like a thunderclap if bumped or if someone hopped on the bed. I could hear that noise from other rooms too. The room was lit up by huge floodlights right outside the door, even with the curtains pulled tight. I also heard someone in another room cursing on the phone through the bathroom vent. Breakfast wasn’t cooked well, and at checkout they couldn’t print a receipt because the printer was out of ink.

I was so disappointed. The place felt filthy, and I spent the whole stay feeling gross and unclean. I kept washing my hands and used paper towels I’d brought to touch things. The bedding was stained and didn’t seem clean, and the bed itself was awful. There was dust on the lamps, and hair all over the toilet, tub, and other surfaces. The toilet was broken and kept running. To flush, you had to hold the lever down for a while. The tub and toilet had permanent stains, including a ring in the bowl that made it seem like it hadn’t been cleaned regularly for years. The ceiling was coming apart, and everything else was old and falling apart too. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, and it needs to be condemned.

Clean place, nice stay, and a really comfortable bed. No complaints from me. I’d stay here again.
