Tahoe Star Hotel

The rooms have a modern, cute look while keeping their antique charm, and we enjoyed reading the hotel history in the information booklet. The lobby had coffee and tea, a vending machine, and snacks. Booking through checkout was easy, and the hotel’s location across from the train station, right in the heart of Truckee, worked perfectly since we weren’t renting a car. Our train was delayed by nine hours, but Emma had been in touch since the day before and gave us clear instructions for arriving late. We let ourselves in and didn’t see much that night. After heavy snowfall, we took a TART bus around town the next day, popping back to change our socks a few times. We loved staying here and know where we’ll stay next time we’re back in Truckee.

Emma was so kind and helpful, just the perfect hostess. The Truckee Star is clean and cute, with delightful rooms and a couple of gathering rooms. The location was great for walking everywhere. Truckee itself is a sweet little town with plenty to do. We followed the river trail and explored up the hill, and the train ride from Roseville was a blast. Can’t wait to stay at the Star again ⭐️❤️

The room was clean and updated, and the bed was really comfortable. Emma and the staff were so friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay great. They suggested local restaurants, let us leave our bags after checkout, and even gave us a coupon for Martis Valley Massage and Spa. The hotel was clean and welcoming, and downtown Truckee was an easy walk. If you want to stay downtown, this is definitely the spot. We’ll be back soon!

We stayed in 8a and 8b with our two kids, and there was plenty of room for us. The rooms were clean and well stocked, and the staff were super helpful. Loved the location and all the charm of this hotel.
