Kalmar Village & Tradewinds

David and Nina were awesome to work with while arranging my daughter's wedding at Kalmar Village. The wedding went perfectly, and the accommodations worked out very well for people who traveled from all around the US. It’s only about a 10-minute ride, if that, to Commercial Street in Ptown. The property is beautiful and well maintained, with spectacular ocean views. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you!

The beach is huge, the resort has a lot of character, and it’s right by the water. Yes, there’s seaweed, but that’s normal. After Labor Day it was very quiet, and Radu built us a beautiful bonfire while I watched shooting stars. We had plenty of room with our two dogs, the AC worked, and the shower pressure was great. I’d have liked heavier bath towels, and the mattresses need replacing, but we loved our stay and will be back next year. We’d panicked after messing up our itinerary at another rental and needed a place for one night. Nina answered at Kalmar and found us a dog-friendly room. Dave showed me the available room, and it checked all the boxes. He, Nina, and the cleaning staff were all friendly. We were greeted by Dozer, a lovely dog, too.

I came back in the off-season to see how it was, after staying here a couple of times before. It was just as I remembered: plenty of beach, cozy little colleges, and wonderful people around.

We’ve been coming for 35 years and wouldn’t stay anywhere else on the Cape. The six modern two-room cottages are a highlight, with two bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, full kitchen with stove and oven, plenty of hot water, AC, electric heat, TV, WiFi, and window blinds and screens. The WiFi can be spotty when the place is busy. The cottages are well maintained despite taking a beating from winter storms and sand, and ours was immaculate. David and Nina are friendly and accommodating. There’s a large sandy yard and beach, lovely views of P'town, and the place sits back from the road, so it’s quiet. Room types vary, including classic cottages. There are outdoor BBQ stands, though it’s usually too windy to grill, which makes it great for flying kites. The pool is clean and well maintained, and the cleaning staff do a great job. It’s very restful, except for a Saturday night wedding in the fall, when the music still ends by 10pm.
