Days Inn Tucson City Center

The room was simply disgusting, and not worth the $65 we paid. There were dead roaches, dirty walls, moldy curtains, and one bed smelled so awful, like someone had died there. I’m pretty sure a dog or some other pet had been in the room, since there was an opened can of dog food in the fridge. It was a non-smoking room with two queen beds, but as soon as we opened the door, we got hit with stale, musty air. Was it even cleaned after the last guests? Probably not. If I could give it no stars, I would. I should get a refund.

The front desk woman was warm, kind, direct, and knowledgeable. Our first room had some minor electrical problems, and she moved us to another that suited us even better without any fuss. I spent much of my youth working in hotel management, and with economy hotels, service is what makes the difference. It’s a Days Inn, so don’t expect anything fancy, but I’d send family here.

The staff were courteous and attentive when I had questions, and my stay went smoothly overall. The interiors are very old and need updates or repairs. I also had neighbors smoking outside their room while I was moving my luggage in and out. A designated smoking area would have made more sense.

Cynthia was the one good part of the stay. The afternoon and night counter person was awesome. The main room was okay, but the bathroom and sink area were terrible. Because of the room, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
